Javier Hernández Balcazar (born on June 1, 1988 in Guadalajara, Jalisco) also known as El Chícharito, is a Mexican footballer currently playing with Chivas de Guadalajara in Primera División as a Forward. Career - Hernández began playing with Chivas' lower division team, Chivas Coras in Tepic, Nayarit in the 2005-2006 season. He debuted for Chivas in the 2006 Apertura in a win over Necaxa, scoring the fourth goal of the game in Estadio Jalisco. He currently leads Chivas with an impressive 11 goals in 16 games in the 2009 Apertura. He is the top Mexican goal leader in the league. Personal life - Football runs down Hernández veins, his dad played professionally with Estudiantes Tecos and his grandfather is Tomás Balcázar who played professionally his entire career with Chivas from 1948-1958, obtaining a title. Mexico national under-20 football team - One of the 21 players called up to the Mexican National Team for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup being held in Canada—he wore the number 11 shirt. Upon playing his first game against the National Team of Gambia, he scored a goal by making the goalkeeper come out and play the ball around him and easily pushing the ball into the back of the net; Mexico won 3 to 0.
